Going back to Iowa City

Wednesday, April 7, 2010 –Last night (4/6/2010) Kellee went out for the first time since  got home last Friday. As he described it, he had a “hot date”! He was picked up by a young lady and went over to her house to have supper with her and her two roommates (yes,3 females). Since he is still on some pain meds, he could not drive there. He said it was good to get out.

On a different note, if you see Kellee, ask him about the toilet paper incident, that’s all I have to say about that.

Tomorrow we go back to Iowa City for multiple appointment @ 10, 11, 1 & 2. We are supposed to learn the final pathology results.  We meet with Dr. H. the medical oncologist then Dr. S. the Radiation oncologist.  (A side note here – We are hoping these two doctors will have conferred together before we get there. We are a bit concerned about, what if these docs don’t agree on a treatment plan?  One thing we were told to be aware of is since the U of I Hospital is a teaching hospital and Kellee’s tumor is rare, a number of doctors could be interested in being involved in his treatment. If they do not agree on treatment, it may be time for us to think about looking into a second opinion.)   Kellee will also have a CT scan and an MRI. We will also investigate Hope Lodge a bit more as well.  Keep praying for wisdom for the doctors and for us as we decipher the best course of action.

    Kent and Heidi,
We’ll pray for wisdom and communication for the doctors. Patience for you guys and complete healing for Kellee. Good luck Friday! God’s blessings on you.
